Learn what Taskcenter is and how North Star works

Taskcenter is an agent-first workspace for governed work. North Star is the main agent, child agents handle bounded specialist work, and every serious run should leave behind evidence, approvals, files, and a readable report.

What it is

Taskcenter is not a normal chatbot. It is an execution workspace where a request can become a plan, child-agent assignments, routine work, connected files, browser evidence, and final artifacts. The product standard is simple: if work happened, the user should be able to see what happened and why.

North Star

North Star is the main agent. It should decide when to answer directly, when to ask a question, when to create a plan, when to delegate to a child agent, and when to stop for approval. When it needs a user decision before proceeding, it should create a durable interaction card attached to the thread instead of burying the question in prose. Child agents report back into the parent thread instead of disappearing into private logs.

Trust model

Taskcenter favors visible execution over hidden autonomy. User-facing work should show status, sources, failure reasons, and next actions. Planned or partial features must be labeled honestly and never presented as completed runtime behavior.
